WELCOME TO THE WELLOW PHOTO ARCHIVE

 

Wellow is a small village south of Bath situated in an area of outstanding natural beauty. Its history goes back 4000 years to the time when the Celts lived here and made use of the tumulus at Stoney Littleton.

However, the history illustrated here is a little more recent as the following pages contain photographs of village life in Wellow, and its environs, over the early part of the last century and even before. Most were originally collected for the 1977 Jubilee celebrations and are now held by Gordon Hewlett. They are arranged into the categories below.
