The inside of the Church has not changed much since
this picture was originally taken and sold as a postcard.
The Church was built by Lord Hungerford and completed in
1372. Its style is early perpendicular with one of the
finest towers in the West Country. It is dedicated to St
Julian's the Hospitaller whose stone carved figure
nestles in a niche above the porch. His day is 17
October. All this, and much much more, is described by L
W Fussell. |
